This pioneer facility is completely new and independent, designed in accordance with the guidelines laid down for the commercial production of plants for use in agricultural production, and ecologically certified.The seed bed nursery has been certified based on EC regulation 2092/91 on ecological agricultural production.

The nursery is located in one of the areas with the least possible risk from pests, where there is a growing interest in production methods that are respectful towards the environment.Pest-control is carried out by qualified staff and experts in integrated control techniques, through the selective release of beneficial insects, the strategic sowing of plant reservoirs and other low-impact, pest-prevention measures.

During the past few years we have witnessed the development of ecological agriculture, to which the growing awareness of consumers on issues related to safety in foods and environmental problems have contributed a great deal.Ecological agriculture should be considered as an integral part of and a viable alternative to a more traditional approach on the subject of agriculture.

Along these lines, in 2004 Almeriplant Semilleros built a special unit in its facilities in Campohermoso for the production of ecological plants.This facility has an extension of 3,000 sq m.

The Almeriplant ecological unit is equipped with facilities that have multi-tunnel hothouses with openings at the top, which are isolated with mesh. It also contains a double protective system along strips, windows and other accesses.
